Persons who have a ticket to Turf Days 2025 issued to them before 5.00pm on 12 March 2025 will be in the draw for one of three opportunities to face an over of bowling (in a cricket net) from Tim Southee and Kieran Read.


Details

  • Three opportunities for a person to face one over bowled by both Tim Southee and Kieran Read (3 balls each) will be awarded.

  • If a person facing the over is not given ‘out’ by the umpire, they will receive a pack including:

    • A custom branded T Shirt featuring the message “I faced an over from Tim Southee and Kieran Read and didn’t get out!” or similar themed message. The T shirt will be sized and produced after the event for a successful participant(s).

    • Signed promo caps (regardless of being given out or not).

  • The names of three persons to face an over will be drawn live at Turf Days 2025 at approximately 12.15pm on Thursday 20 March 2025.  To be eligible to take up the opportunity a person whose name is drawn must be on-site at the time their name is drawn.  The three names will be selected at random by a member of the Turf Days 2025 organising committee and notified via a public announcement.  If a person whose name is drawn is not present or does not wish to participate then another name will be drawn.

  • A person whose name is drawn may choose not to face the over.  In this event, the person may nominate another person who is present and willing to face the over or a re-draw will be made until a person is found to face the over.

  • The over will take place at approximately 3.45pm on Thursday 20 March 2025 in the erected cricket net at Turf Days 2025.

  • Participation is only open to persons aged 18 years or over on Thursday 20 March 2025 who are residents of New Zealand and residing at a New Zealand-based address. Employees of PGG Wrightson Seeds Limited (PGW Seeds) and its associated companies and their immediate family members are ineligible to participate.

  • Participants acknowledge that there is a risk of injury.  Protective gear will be supplied including gloves, helmet, pads and a box.  However this is no way constitutes acceptance by PGW Seeds (including its officers, employees, advisers, agents or contractors) of liability for any injury.

  • Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, PGW Seeds (including its officers, employees, advisers, agents or contractors) excludes all liability (including in negligence) for any personal injury or any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way from or in relation to this event.

  • In order to face the over a person must have signed a form acknowledging the risk of injury and accepting the exclusion of liability, and be wearing the protective gear, provided by PGW Seeds.  If a person does not do so then another name will be drawn.

 

Other

  • Decisions of PGW Seeds on all aspects of the event are final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

  • PGW Seeds reserves the right to cancel or amend any aspect of the event at any time.

  • By participating in the event persons are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
